Silence. In densely populated countries like the Netherlands it is a rare phenomenon.
A pity, for silence could be a state of promise, of possibility and potentiality, or a valuable moment of hesitation, of contemplation or listening. In search of these hidden qualities, artist Ingeborg Entrop undertook an exploratory journey to presumably the most silent place in the Netherlands. The book Fugue in D (Liberated Silence) is a musical score that describes this journey as a polyphony of three voices perceived during the trip: the inner voice of associative memories from the past; the voice of overheard conversations; and the voice of images, showing the things still beyond audible reach.
